Grannies- 75 squares finished

Today I have been lovingly laying out (and re-laying out) all the grannies I've crocheted over the last 3 months, 75 in total. I can't help but feel totally wrapped in my achievement! I started out not knowing how to crochet and now my very own handmade nanna knee blanket is within grasp of my greedy little paws! More granny love over here.

I'm also looking forward to sharing some pictures with you of my sister in-law's crochet, she's an absolute gun! Not only has she been working on her own granny project but also found time to crochet some beanies for the boy, adorable.

In love with ... Alex Maclean

Alex Maclean's ariel photography is lovely, check out his portfolio, it's breathtaking.

"Pilot and photographer Alex MacLean has flown his plane over much of the United States documenting the landscape. Trained as an architect, he has portrayed the history and evolution of the land from vast agricultural patterns to city grids, recording changes brought about by human intervention and natural processes."

A holiday is as good (but probably better) then a change

I'm off to Melbourne bright and early tomorrow for the State of Design Design:Made:Trade fair (and maybe a few bevies with friends too). Woot!

There are heaps of great events as part of the festival, if you are out and about in Melbourne check out some of the free events here, one of which is the AGDA poster annual, with the theme 'sampling the future'. Above is one of my favourite posters from last year by Marie Schultz with the theme 'strength in numbers'

Some nice film clips

I think every time I see Rage (or any other music program) do a "top music videos" show, Thriller always comes in at number 1. I love Thriller, it's fantastic, but here are a few film clips which come to mind which are also awesome.

White stripes - Hardest button to button
Beck - E-pro
Foo Fighters - Everlong
Junior Senior - Move your feet
Sia - Buttons
Daft Punk - around the world

Evening conversation - Flowers vs Zombies

Blair: What are those flowers? Do you keep planting them?
Me: They are jonquils, no, I planted them a few years ago.
Blair: Then why do they keep coming back?
Me: They are a type of bulb, like a plant that dies off and comes back to life in Winter.
Blair: So they are like Zombies
Me: um, no, not really

Time flies

image via it's nice that

I've posted this awesome calendar by Mytton Williams (they have some great self promotional calendars here) because I booked the boy's 6 month check up today, I was musing on how time flies. Honestly I have no idea where the last 6 month have gone. It's been lovely.
