Baby Teresa, giving twice is just as nice!

Last week The Boy and I, along with pals Ruth and little G, went along to the launch of Baby Teresa. Baby Teresa is a new clothing concept for bubs, for each onesie you buy, Baby Teresa will donate one to a baby in need. On the night of the launch 100 suits were donated to the Launceston Benevolent Society. I think this would be a great gift for a baby shower or new Mum, because it gives twice (I'm all for that kind of value!)
You can buy them online here (ps. there is free postage within Australia!)

Sadly not sewn soon

Sew retro, originally uploaded by lovestitches.

I got 'in the mood' yesterday, for a bit of a sew. Unfortunately my inspired moment fell flat on it's face when I discovered my sewing machine did not want to co-operate. So, off to the shop with it!
These things always seems to happen at the most inopportune times, like when making a birthday present which is 4 months overdue. hmmm
This is not my sewing machine (above), if only! It is very cute.

I've probably gone a bit over the top with the images, but I can't help it the work is exquisite. You can check out more at Tamar Mogendorff's website. Mmm, swoon.

Kusudama Flower 'finished'

Here is the 'finished' kusudama flower ball trial, I think it might need a little work yet, but great fun to make, check it out here.

Granny blanket, so close now

I'm so excited, the granny project is so close to being completed! I have about 1m of edging left to go. Then all I need to do is sew up a few loose ends, and ta da, project complete!

Making a Kusudama

Kusudama Flower 1, originally uploaded by things to make and do.
I'm making a trial run of the Kusudama flower ball for an up coming AGDA event with Beci Orpin, followed by crafternoon. I found some cool vintage organ music to make it out of, so far so good. Tutorial here.

Lovingly handmade No.2

This happy little crochet bear was lovingly made by Sarah from skimma stuff. The bear is named "blueberry"- while I was pregnant we called The Boy 'Blueberry', when we started telling people we were having a bub, he was (apparently) the size of a blueberry, and the name stuck. It actually took me a few days to stop calling him Blueberry after he was born.
Sarah made Blueberry a little blueberry coloured bear, so adorable. Thank you Sarah :) The Boy loves to give him lots of cuddles and dribbles.

Thrifty finds - Saturday op-shopping

I went out for a grand op-shop outing with my Mum and found this amazing Catherine Holm enameled pot. I've had my beady eye out for one of these for ages, I love the bold and colourful graphic. mmm.. mid-century modern.

Lovingly handmade No.1

I've been looking around my house lately realising how blessed I am to have such a extraordinary bunch of creative friends and family. Every room has something in it which has been lovingly handmade. I wanted to show you, as these gifts mean the world to me.

Pictured above is a crochet hemp dishcloth/scourer from my talented sister in-law Erica (thanks Erica you're a star!), works a dream!

Notions handmade

A few weeks ago I was the lucky recipient of a box full of Notions handmade loveliness! Here are a few of my favourite pieces (also including the red riding brooch my Mum gave me for my birthday! Thanks Mum). Rosie is a local Tassie gal who loves the handmade, you can check out her blog here.
